3. Eligibility Criteria for HPU B.Ed. 2025-26 Entrance Exam

No relaxation is allowed, even by 0.01 percent, in the prescribed percentage of marks.
The B.Ed. degree awarded by HPU does not guarantee eligibility for TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) positions in the government sector. Eligibility for such positions is determined by the appointing authorities.
Candidates Appearing for Final Exams
Candidates who have appeared for their final year BA/B.Sc./B.Com. or Bachelor of Engineering/Technology exams can also apply for the B.Ed. Entrance Test.
However, their admission is contingent on producing a certificate of passing the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks.

Post-Graduation Eligibility

Reservation Policy
Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-servicemen/wards of ex-servicemen/wards of defense personnel and physically handicapped categories will be as per Himachal Pradesh Government rules.
85% of seats are reserved for candidates who are bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh, and 15% are open to candidates from other states/UTs.
10% of the 85% state quota seats in non-government self-financing institutions are treated as management quota seats, which are filled by the institute's management based on merit in a transparent manner. There is no reservation for these management quota seats, but basic eligibility criteria remain the same.
