 Banglore based NGO confers Best Teacher Award 2020 to Nawanshahr School lecturer.

Institute Of Scholars, Bangalore honoured Pooja Sharma, Lecturer in English, Government Senior Secondary Smart School,  Nawanshahr ,with 'Best Teacher Award 2020' for her marvelous contribution in the field of education. She was honoured with a certificate and trophy along with lifetime membership of this institution. 

      Pooja Sharma, a physically challenged, during lockdown period taught English to her students with devotion and  prepared 30 video lectures and 20  audio lectures. While the video lectures were telecast on DD Punjabi ( Jalndhar Doordarshan)  and Swayam Prabha ( National TV Channel) ,  audio lectures were broadcast on All India Radio Patiala and Doaba Radio. She also created a YouTube channel for the students of her school in which 47 video lectures were uploaded to help students in the subject of English. 

     Besides, she has also contributed more than 50  articles on the problems and solutions of disabled children and other issues related to society and environment which were published in local newspapers and papers of America, Canada, England, Germany and Italy. Pooja Sharma also prepared more than 20 videos of pronunciation which is an essential part of State Project "Root Word of the Day" under Padho Punjab Padhao Punjab program and these were shared on the Facebook page of of Education Department Punjab.  

      District Education Officer (Secondary Education)  Jagjit Singh and school Principal, Sarabjit Singh and school staff felicitated Pooja Sharma for her achievement.  Jagjit Singh, District Education Officer,  said that though she had been  facing innumerable physical problems but she had been making worthemulating contribution towards education and a source of inspiration for others.
